Mater Dei School has a close association with the Mater Dei Parish at Blakehurst and its Parish Priest, Fr Isidore Anantharaj. Together we promote an approach to life that is Christ-centred reflecting our school motto ‘growing together in Christ’.  In this, we aim to develop in ourselves and in the children the gospel values of respect, acceptance, co-operation, responsibility, truth, justice, reconciliation, peace and joy. Our pastoral care of the children aims to assist them in the development of these values.

Mater Dei School has a reputation as a school of high academic standards. These standards are maintained through a commitment to ongoing professional development of all staff.

We offer a learning program that has an emphasis on developing individual competence within a challenging curriculum.  We place an emphasis on literacy, numeracy and Religious Education and offer opportunities for the students to develop their creative abilities through art, music, dance and drama. We encourage a healthy lifestyle through physical education, sport and health education. Supervised internet access and student use of computers are an integral part of learning.

Our staff are highly competent educators, who work in partnership with the parents of our students and strive to create a classroom environment where all children are valued for their uniqueness, are treated with dignity and challenged to be the best that they can be.
